Ovo and Camping!!

Tory has been looking forward to this weekend for a very long time . . .  and so have we all, I guess! :) We went to see Cirque du Soleil in Portland, to the one called Ovo.  It was a great show, full of dancing, leaping, twisting "insects" - their costumes are amazing! The music was very Brazilian with all those great Samba sounds.  Now Tory and Natalia want to be acrobats, of course (and maybe she will still save some animals here and there, in her spare time).
Their reaction when we announce we had finally arrived!

SOOOO excited to see OVO!!

See? She is already practicing her acrobatic skills!

After OVO, we had to check out Edwin's favorite city: Portland!

Yes, Portland is still weird....
After trying in vain to get into VooDoo Doughnut Shop every time we come to Portland,  there was finally not a long line, so Edwin was happy.
Natalia enjoying her M&M doughnut!

And Tory, her grape flavored one (it was purple, so that was enough)...

Edwin and my fancy drinks... :)

I have forever seen these drinks... I ordered a mocha,  not knowing it would be this fancy... and after putting in about 6 packages of sugar (not exaggerating), I finally gave up, and Edwin finished it off for me.... weird (oh wait! I was in Portland! Ok, that explains it.)

We have discovered a love of camping, so we decided to break up the four hour trip home by camping at a half-way point, called Memaloose State Park... been here before and will surely return, probably when the Garcia-Morenos visit us soon!

Where's Tory?
Still a fun game! :)

Enjoying the campsite!

I love tents!!
They pretended the tent was a store and played for a good couple hours that way.

We were disappointed to discover our previous route to the river was blocked off by the State Park, so we drove around looking for somewhere to get to the river to play... we ended up having to pay to park here, but it was the only place we could find, and it ended up being really fun! :)

Tory was fascinated by these butterflies. There weren't just 2 or 3, oh no! There were about 50 all swarming, and flying around.  Tory actually was able to catch one in her butterfly house/net.

Yeah, about the goggles... um, well... I give up.  Don't know. Must be a "Gotta copy my big sister" thing, no matter how uncomfortable they are or how much they block my view... :)

And why is Tory wearing them? I wonder if she even knows....
The girls kept collecting flowers for me, so I decorated my hat... :)

Looking for some kind of shade!

Already improving on those acrobatic skills! :)

Just about to let it go!!

Just as OVO was Tory's highlight of the trip... well, trains were Natalia's highlight.  Every time a train went by (which was about every two hours - day AND night) she got all excited and wanted to get in view of the train . . . here she was still able to point it out, though she was in the tent. :)
Ready to go!
The name of this restaurant was just too intriguing not to stop . . . and after cooking over a fire for  three days, we were ready for some civilization . . . . :)

I love it when places have little areas for kids to play while they have to wait for dinner to come... :)

I loved the cafe feel to the place . . . and we weren't ready for a table just yet :)
